Oh yeah, it can be done fairly easily. I did that my first time 'round on
the '68/1600. That is, it comes OUT fairly easily (after you get the bolts
loose, which takes 'just a bit' of effort). Putting it back IN was a bear! It
took half the day to get the input shaft to align with the clutch plate and
pilot bushing (yes, I used an alignment tool too).
