Hello all,

The consensus seems to be yellow zinc. Since I already get lots of
carb parts done I'll clean it up and put it in with the next batch

I've got a 2L heat shield that I would like to restore to its original
finish.

Call your local platers and find who does zinc plating with zinc chromate
conversion finnish.
Take your heat shield, washer bracket, coil bracket, hood latch medalion,
hood latch, relay covers, voltage regulator cover, Alternator pulley/fan,
every 8mm nut that uses a 12mm wrench, throtle cable standoff, throtle cam
and pivot bolts, carb center linkage, front manifold water pipe, horns (in
pieces), top timing chain cover, feul hose bracket, engine lift brackets,
any and all old style hose clams, radiator cap, oil pressure tube-to-hose
bracket and oil dip stick.

wire brush any rust off, sand smooth for that just like new finish. They
charge by the pound and youv'e got 3 maybe 4 pounds. Most cases, these guys
are really quick, they might do it while you wait.

When you lift your hood, and all that cold cad glitters in the sun, and all
the other roadster owners go "ooohhh"
