Linda,
I always use Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant on all the studs. Especially good
on the thermostat housing studs. I never had a problem removing the nuts and
housing after using Anti-Seize. You might want to invest in a tap and die
set - use the die on the studs and the tap on the nuts to help renew the
threads, then use the Anti-Seize.
