Hey guys-
did you know that the throttle opening TOO FAR can cause similar
symptoms?
In my case, I had PO/anti-PO madness afoot. No throttle stop screw
when I got the car; this let the throttle open too far, which made
the engine peter out at high RPM (sound familiar?;-) I put a screw
in there, which helped.
Then, last month when I got it running again, I said to myself,
"What the Hell?! Who put this longass screw under here? No wonder
the car won't go!" Took the screw out. Said, hmm... that screw
*does* look familiar, somehow.... And back again was my mysterious
high-rev dieout. Sheesh:-)
Yesterday, I reset the linkage, and lengthened the arm from the cable
bellcrank to the carb linkage. ...best part is, I'm too chicken to
see if it fixed anything!
Just call me:
