Kyle,
We had a 1990 Max and loved it until we had too many cars and not enough
drivers and it was the first car sold. One thing I know to watch out for is
rust at the bottom of the front door posts. You won't see it just walking
by. get down at ground level and look underneath the car. Our '90 and
several others we looked at had sever rust in the frame rails at the bottom
of the front door posts. If you find a solid body but the motor stumbles a
bit when cold, it may just be the distributor cap. They have a tendency to
crack on the inside and will start giving you problems, especially when
damp.
Other than that, great cars. A SE 5 speed would be a great 4 passenger
play car. Happy hunting.
