Hi roadster fans,
Just got back from a vacation in Japan. Just wanted to let you all
know that while I was there , I didn't see one roadster. A whole month and
not one sighting. I remember as a young kid (spent my early years there) they
were very rare, most were exported to other countries. About the oldest car I
saw was aToyo/Corona, a Toyo/Publica(never exported) both from mid 60's. I
did see a 510sss Coupe(never exported) and of course the ever popular Skyline
GTR/GT 69/70ish.
I guess what I'm implying here is HOLD ON TO THESE CARS!! they're
becoming ever scarce by the day. Looked in the back of japanese car mags and
found most of the roadster ads to be for SRL's from the states(lft hand
drive). Most are probably Calif cars. The asking price on average were about
10 grand.
I hate to see roadsters in the junkjards, but every time I do
,that just means our cars have appreciated just a little more.
Sorry, Socal members, wanted to meet all of you, will try for next
one.
