Laura,
It might take all of five minutes to check/replace them. Follow the fuel
line to the banjo bolt into the float chamber lid on each carb. I think it
is a 12mm or 13mm. With the motor cold, because you will spill a small
amount of fuel, remove the bolts. The screen filters are small cylinders
that slide over the bolt and inside the "T" fitting that feeds fuel into the
float.. If they are there and old, they maybe torn or partially corroded
and may actually fall apart as you take the bolt out. I have found them
green with corrosion in some cars, torn in some, and completely gone in
others.
I got mine from <http://www.Nissanautoparts.com> for $0.62 each. Part
number is 16098-73401. If your local Nissan dealer is roadster friendly,
you can get them there also. Or of course, CDM.
