Front strut installation

I managed to find a pair of KYB Gas-Adjust for the front of my 69 1600.
I have a pretty good idea of how to do the swap, but I'm new with the
roadsters and I wanted to poll everyone for input on the procedure.  How
would you folks do it?  I can see how to get the cup out of the lower
arm but my spring clamp might not accomodate the steep twist on the
spring.  Ideas?  Thanks All.
