The problem with the "pump the pedal" system is that on older cars your master cylinder piston and seals will be contacting a part of the cylinder that has not been used in a long time and that usually damages the seals. The cylinder starts to leak in a few days to months. "Pump the pedal" is OK if you are rebuilding the system, but once you use a power or vacuum method you won't go back. -- Philip Erickson 69 2000 |
