Hello all,
I've removed the wide rear wings from SB1135 with the
intention of reinstalling the original items which
came with the car, and have a couple questions
relating to the rear lamps:
1. Has anyone seen the repro Wingard assemblies
available from Moss? They appear in the Sprite/Midget
catalog, and are cheap! i.e. $35 each. The PO of 1135
has hacked up the baseplates of the originals,
inserting 2 bulbs from the rear which protrude into
the wing, whereas the original design (and this repro)
held a single bulb in a vertical position, without
requiring a large hole in the wing.
2. My S2 manual copy shows indicator lamps with 4
little "fins" on them, and the original wings
themselves have a large central hole (for the bulb)
and only two small mounting holes for the lamp
assembly... which other British cars were these lamps
on, and does anyone out there have lamps like the ones
in the manual? I've never seen their likes before! I
currently have the small glass "beehive" type with
chrome trim ring.
