I'm sorry, but I deleted the original post in a flurry of messages.

The Zenith is a modern carburetor and AFAIK there are no manufacturers of brass
floats for it. From my experience the problem of float failure is not related
to any fuel attack, but is a result of manufacturing problems. Failure rate in
Original Manufacturer Zenith floats has been higher than expectation, and all
problems reported to Moss Motors so far appear due to pin holes created when
the float was formed. The manufacturer has been appraised of this problem, but
I am not aware of any resolution (keep in mind I'm on the periphery of this
problem, not directly involved with vendor communication). There are a lot of
floats in circulation, and at this time I would suggest it's a good idea to
test them before installation and return any that appear substandard to the
original vendor.

Sorry, but I figured that this experience would be helpful.
