Thats why I put TR parts on my MGBGT (TR6 fuel cap, GT6 radiator recovery
system)...and took off the MGB markings. Seems no one would take me up on my
offer to sell the BGT so I could replace it with a TR4 & surry top. I just had
to tweek it to look a little nicer. The BGT is OK as long as you don't mind an
underpowered car (I don't since I also own a Land Rover). I have occasionally
wondered if the TR 4 cylinder might fit into the MG (I know it will fit into the
back of a GT. I carryed one home in it).
The BGT body style is a whole lot better than the roadster MG's body style,
but its still not as nice as a Stag.
But to be honest, the MG isn't half bad, but I do get tired of beating the fuel
pump all the time. And it sure beats not having a Britsh sports car. And a
MGBGT is a little dryer in the rain than a TR3 is.
Do you realize that if the society for the prevention of cruelty to SU fuel
pumps had their way, the sides of roads would be littered with MGBs. I was
thinking of taking one of those school fire bells, removing the bell and
mounting it next to the pump so that when you turn it on the little hammer would
pound on the pump.
Christopher, forget the asbestos & get out the marshmellows
Actually I would rather drive just about any British sports car than push one
regardles of marque.
