Received this story from a Jaguar acquaintance who is not on the Digest.
Thought I would pass it along.
May 4 17:29 JAGUAR CONTINUES STRONG SALES TREND IN APRIL
MAHWAH, N.J., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Jaguar reports a sales boost for April
of more than 35 percent for the month, compared to April 1993. This April,
Jaguar sold 1,368 cars, compared to 1,011 in April 1993. Jaguar's year-to-date
sales have jumped more than 22 percent, to 4,384 units (3,572 - 1993).
Jaguar sold 488 XJS models, which is the highest monthly sales since December
1990, and sets a U.S. record for XJS sales for the month of April.
Sales in the northeast recovered strongly in April following three months of
adverse weather. Despite the bad weather conditions, Jaguar sales for the
first quarter rose by 18 percent, helped by a 33 percent increase in March.
In the same period, buyers in the sunshine states of Florida and California
boosted sales of XJS 4.0 liter convertibles by nearly 80 percent.
Michael Dale, President of Jaguar Cars North American operations, said: "I
think luxury car buyers in North America feel that Jaguar is a pretty smart
buy right now. Our competitive, industry-leading lease package has helped us
take a larger share of the market from our competitors, and this strong
showing in the first third of the year bodes well for the remainder of 1994.
Our forecast for this year is to sell more than 15,000 cars."
My stuff: The TR4A has been used for commuting now for several weeks.
Spring has sprung, the grass has riz, wonder where that oil leak is.
Great driving back and forth in this cool sunny weather. Wind in hair,
Mozart on the radio, God's in his heaven, etc.
Cheers to all
