Minilite company sells magnesium wheels, too.
I do not know the relation between new one and the original firm
which has different name.
Magnesium burns really well when it gets going - but it's hard to set alight
in the first place, unless it's fine swarf.
Right. Usually okay. But you must not sand blast them.
Magnesium wheels have another week point.
This metal is weak against salts, although it is rather stable
to pure water than aluminum. This is the reason why they are all
painted unlike ali's.
My original minilites for super seven has many spots and
looks melting:-(
My restoration idea is to blast with low pressure plastic beads
and put low tempareture weld/solder at every spots and defects.
Does anyone know a good source of low melting point weld/solder
applicable for magnesium alloy?
