I have a tiny single car garage, so even if I owned an engine
hoist, I would have no room in which to use it. So, my question is
about the possibility of removing my transmission without removing
the engine from the car. I have a 73 MGB GT. I need to pull the trans.
because the throwout bearing needs to be thrown out and I would like to
replace some assorted seals.
On another subject, after all this talk about the boys in blue giving
unfair speeding tickets, like hiding at the bottom of a fifty percent grade
out in the desert at two in the morning, I would like to relay a more
encouraging story.
I was returning home from the Mt. Telemark ski area in northern WI in
my MR2, when I was pulled over just outside a small town by a local
gendarme. He proceeded to inform me of my transgressions, such as passing
a van at the unbelievable speed of 76 mph. When I asked to see the radar
reading, he then informed me that he used a new high tech system called
'VASCAR' instead of radar because it was much more accurate. I said that
I couldn't believe I was going 76 mph, and he said that I'd believe it when
I got the ticket. Well, I still don't believe it, because my speedo was
way past the one hundred mph mark when I passed that van.
