I'm sure I didn't get everything back together exactly right in the
snake's pedal box when I redid the hydraulic. I assumed re-assembly
would be straight forward and obvious. It wasn't. One good picture
would have saved me a hell of a lot of time and anguish.

ALWAYS assume it's going to be for a long time. Too often it ends up
that way, planned or not.
Even a few hours can be long enough to get confused about how
oddly shaped unfamiliar pieces go together. It's always a good idea
to leave a few clues for yourself. Connect parts together or lay them
out in some orderly way. When I do a brake job, I do one side
completely before even disassembling the other side. That way I have a
three dimensional reference to check as I'm putting things back
together.
