Hi
I've finished my MGB dash redo and all electrics are back working, even all
of the switches/etc on the late-model center console that I installed. Still
need to find a cheapo radio to use.

I found the replacement dash pad from Moss to be of generally poor quality and
fit. According to the "complete instructions"=crude hand-drawn scrawlings and
semi-english text, installation only requires ripping off the old pad and
gluing the new pad on. Well, the fit of the pad is so poor it took at least
three hours of carefully cutting away the original internal foam block to
give a good match to the shape of the new outer pad. Even so, the rigidity
of the new pad did not allow it to be properly clamped into place for gluing
and I was left with a small gap at the top where it meets the metal backing.
I had other problems with the gauge/switch holes, particularly in that the
amount of molded pad across the gauge mounting region was more than original.
This made it difficult to get the oil pressure gauge and heater fan switch
to fit correctly.

It looks a heck of a lot better than the cracked up dash that I had in the
68 previously, but I was hoping that the results would be good enough so that
I could use it in the first-string 69. The 69 currently has one of those plastic
dash covers and it looks pretty good. One has to look carefully to see that it
is a non-original cover. Given the time, expense, and results using the
complete replacement pad, I'd say that the plastic glue-on covers are currently
the best way to go.
