Sandpaper > 600 grit

I have seen mention here often in the last month (from Scott Fisher,
Ray Gibbons, and Jim TenCate) of 1200, 1500, even 2000 grit sandpaper.
I have also been to the best paint store in town, an automotive paint
store, and a "Toy & Model" shop.  I can't find sandpaper finer than
600.  Where do you get it?
