I'm sure we've been over this before, but is
the Weber 32/36 DGV downdraft carb a worth
while investment for a relatively stock MGB
motor? Will it make my B more reliable, or can
I get decent reliability out of fresh SUs. I'd
appreciate hearing from anyone with Weber
experience.
Also, I purchased Moss's MGBGT headliner kit.
I was slightly disappointed by its contents.
I thought the covers that go around the
perimeter of the roof would be of the molded
variety, like the originals (and like the
catalog drawing shows) but they're not. All
the pieces are cut from fabric. This is
alright, except that I paid a lot of money for
this stuff. How expensive could headliner
material be? I'm tempted to send the kit
back and just cut my own.
On the subject of headliners for BGTs (or
coupes in general)...When I took the old
headliner out, there were three layers of
material: the headliner fabric, the foam
backing, and some heavy fabric like material
that was glued directly to the top of the car.
My question is what was the third layer, the
heavy fabric material? My guess is sound
deadening material. If this is the case, what
should I replace it with? Does it matter if I
replace it?
All input greatly appreciated.
