It was a dark and stormy night... A shot rang out... The maid
screamed... Scott left the top down on the TR6... Aaarrrrggg! It
finally happened. I betrayed my LBC. *sigh*

I had a few things to do in the office last night, and I decided to
drive the TR6 in to work. Plenty of stars about, not a cloud in the
sky. As I left the car in the parking lot, I decided to leave the top
down for the ride home. It was cool and a topless ride home would be
a treat well deserved for working late. Around midnight I came
outside to find a downpour that I wouldn't want to be caught in *with*
a hardtop. My car got soaked. I ran out to my poor car which
reminded me of a forgotten dog barking to come inside from the rain.
Quickly, I raised the softtop to prevent further water damage. Then I
stood there in the rain calling myself many names that I can't quite
recall right now. Driving home with my bottom and back soaked, I
realized what I should have done. I should have left the top down and
drove home in the rain. What the hell, the damage was done, it would
have been worth the looks from the bypassers. If this ever happens to
you, leave the top down. :-)

This morning I removed the seats and the soaked carpets. Some of the
carpets ripped apart in my hand. I guess it's time to replace them.
I seem to recall someone having some luck with an inexpensive set of
carpets from a place in Atlanta. Any tips on inexpensive sets? I'm
not looking for showroom carpets, just something to help dampen the
road noise. Did I say dampen?
