Unfortunately I nuked the original posting regarding replacing the
seal at the top of the MGB door....

However, it can be replaced without removing all the guts of the door.
As I recall, you can remove the glass stops  in the bottom of the door
to allow the window to recede further into the door. If necessary, you
could also remove the bolts holding the winder to the door to allow 
the assembly to droop even more. This allows access to the rivets holding
the seal on.
