Question:
How do you get off the mold release that many rubber parts come with?
It's an unsightly grey/brown coating on the rubber. It rolls up into
little
balls when you rub it lightly. So far, I have tried hot soapy water,
acetone, and ethyl alcohol. None of these seem to touch it.
sounds like you hit the polar solvents pretty well. Try using mechanics
hand
cleaner (the "goop" kind, not the abrasive kind). This may dissolve the
coating
and allow you to remove it with water. Also, you might try kerosine. Both
of these will dissolve quite different materials than what you have tried
so far.
Good luck!
