I'm replacing the U-joints on my 1980 Spitfire. While removing the
driveshaft on the passenger side (is this "right" or "left" by the
way?) I managed to shear off the stud on the vertical link that's
used to bolt the shock absorber on. Nuts! Called TRF and Vicky
Brit... they're no longer available... double nuts!

So, the question becomes...

1) do I need to replace the vertical link (used part from who knows
   where), or
2) can I just get a new stud put on it? (welded?)

thanks in advance!

Eric
