What really surprised me was how few LBC's I saw. In the 5 days that I
was there, I saw 2 MGB's, 1 Midget, 4 Spitfires, 3 (!) Rover P5's and
NO TR2-6's.

I went to a couple of dealers which sold only LBC's, and was astounded at the
price of MG's. I saw a very nice (concours) chrome bumpered MGB for $24,000 !,
a couple of condition 2 rubber Midgets for over $4500.

Well, the number of LBC's you see over here depend on where you are driving
and what time of day... Seriously.

There aren't going to be many lbc's on motorways - especially during business
hours when every other car is a rep-mobile. Lbc's are generally expensive -
due to our weather killing a lot off - and therefore a lot are pampered
second cars. There are those which are peoples only motor transport, things
like Midgets, Spitfires and Morris Minors, but most seem to be fair weather
cars. Your more likely to see them in towns and around country lanes on
the weekend or doing local comuting trips on nice days. To check my theory
out, I tries to count how many old classics I saw on the way home from
work yesterday - about 2 miles. It was a pleasant sunny afternoon.

Well, I saw 5 in the 15 minute journey. A convertible Reliant Scimitar;
a lovely red Jag.; an MGB; a battered up, old Morris Minor Traveller and
a Spitfire 1500. I would have seen more but the Spitfire which parks
down my road wasn't there, nor was the GT6 which is often parked in the
pub carpark opposite my house.

On the way to work today I saw four. Another Spitfire; a big old Rover;
a Triumph Herald 13/60 convertible and an immaculate Bond Equipe.

However, on may journeys along motorways I seldom see any - except for the
occational E-type ond such - I once say a group of four race prep. TR4's
(taped over lightsd, numbers on the doors etc) going in convoy down the
A11 to the Snetterton race track, overtaking cars as a group - signaling,
pulling out etc. all at the same time.

On your comments about not seing any TR's, well they never sold in great
numbers like MGB's and they are getting quite expensive now - so they then
to be run out on weekends and holidays only.

Steve.
