I know the subject of speedometer calibration has come up several times
before. While cleaning up my office, I've run across a piece of paper that
gives the name, address, and instructions from a company that will recalibrate
british speedometers.

The company is:

                        Moma
                        10853 Magnolia Blvd
                        North Hollywood, CA 91601
                        (818) 980 8642

The instructions were as follows:

Remove the speedometer, attach a piece of paper to the square cable
end. Turn the rear wheel of the car 6 full turns. Count the number
of revolutions the cable makes. Measure the distance from the center
of the rear wheel to the ground.

Back then, (2 years ago) the cost was $50, and the lady who I talked to was
named Margaret Lucas (really!). I have no idea if these people are still
around or not, so if you're interested, you should definitely call first.

                                                        Joe
