Jerry, an autocross is a British term for a four way intersection that is
unmarked except with a warning sign that says autocross. Otherwise it is an
uncontrolled intersection. An autosport has grown up around an autocross to
see how quickly one can get through the intersection without being hit.
An artificial version has been adapted in the US that uses cones unstead of
an actual uncontrolled autocrossing. Also, only one car is allowed on the
autocross at a time to minimize the possibility of wrecks.

Hope this clears things up for you,

TeriAnn ;^)
