The very first brake job I ever did taught me a lesson on what not to
do. I did as you did and disassembled both sides before proceeding and
spent hours trying to figure out how to reassemble everything. It
seemed so simple and straight forward beforehand. Now I completely do
one side before starting the other. This way there is no danger of
getting parts mixed and you can use the unassembled side as a reference.
Looking at the real thing is much better than looking at a manual
(assuming you have one). Just keep in mind that some parts may be
mirror imaged.
