We went through this (with TR-4A, -250, and -6) a few months ago. What we finally decided was that the switch from grease to 90W happened when the -4A came out (1965), and was mainly to try to avoid problems resulting from grease "caking" in the lubrication channels and never reaching the steel/brass mating surface. Since you know that you have fresh grease in there now, you probably needn't worry at the moment, but should clean it up at the next occasion. chris |
