I tried to send this before, but I never saw it on the mailing list.
Roger, I have at leat one 1098 crank. In fact I have an an entire
1098 engine. Send me measuremants of the crank you need and the one
you don't want, for that matter. If your Spridget is not
structurrally rusted, you bet I'm jealous! If it is white, why not
stick with the white and paint it up in "USA" white with blue stripe?
Orange CAN be original. University Motors in Grand Rapids, Mich can
tell you about all the original colors. On the wire-wheel discussion,
yes there are rubber bands for the wheels, my Midget had them. I have
traded into disc wheels to get 4.5" for stock class autocrossing here.
There are some MiniLite-looking centre-lock wheels in British
Restoration Parts catalog (800) 821-3767 for As, Bs, Cs and Midgets.
I know that Midgets and MGBs both use the same spline. I have 2 rough
Midget wires and 2 passable MGB wires I can't use since my refitting
of hubs. My US Mail is: 672 Orleans Street, Saint Paul, MN 55107.
My home phone is (612) 224-3105. I'm afraid that the $3,000 car you
noted is not in my budget either!
