You are correct.
This is what I have found.

Front flex line part numbers for the earlier Kelsey Hayes type brakes;
Wagner F86598
Raybestos BH381199
Bendex 88488

Part numbers for the later Bendex type brakes;
Wagner F86596
Raybestos BH36793
Bendex 88655

If anyone has any information to indicate otherwise please let us know.

Kevin,

That should be the part number for the  Kelsey Hayes caliper, but I
believe
that that is the Wagner PN not a Bendix number.  However, to be sure,
take
you old one off and check it against the part at the auto parts store.

The front flex line for the Kelsey Hayes has a long (several inches)
metal
tube at the caliper fitting, the Bendix doesn't.
