John,
Here's some answers,
The rubber grommet goes on the inside of the firewall. It is mounted with
#10 sheet metal screws. The tube goes in the drivers side of the A/C box.
The end of the tube goes into the evaporator core.

 inside of the cockpit:

 1. The 2 refrigriant hoses penetrate the firewall near the steering col. via
an oblong hole. There is a rubber grommet that covers this hole. Is it
mounted on the inside of the firewall?

 2. This grommet has 2 holes, one at each end. What type of screws are used
to
attach it to the firewall? Are they sheet metal screws or nuts & bolts?
anyone know what size? Do they go in from the cockpit or from the eng.
    compartment?

 3. There is a switch for the temp, I think. It is on the dash someplace and
has a tube going to the A/C box. Which side of the A/C box does it go
into, the pass. side or the drivers side?

 TIA
