GoKartRacer thoughts (off topic)

I went to GoKart Racer with Vernon and Pete the other
night,(Obligatory autocross content), and I was
thinking about something Steve told me once.  He said
that on the Monza track, he doesn't brake, but just
lifts.  Does anyone get away with that?  I think there
are 3 actual braking places, or is this why I'm so
slow?
