I do that technique 'hop up/down' specially in Candlestick and sometimes
i : fly-off,slam-down,scrape here,scrape there,get nose bleed (sudden 
elev.change),
and that's just on my way to Grid ;)

As I recall, hopping up and down in the driver's seat is a stunt designed
to allow a small displacement engine, i.e a go-kart, to rev up and
accelerate the vehicle. It worked for me. <G>
