Plus, if you enter the track on South Boundary Road from the city of Del
Rey Oaks, there is a radar trap operated by the Presidio of Monterey.
Posted Speed limit there is 35 mph.
Last time I was there they had a "dummy" guy positioned first. The
guy with the radar gun was about another mile down the road.
Standard cost for said "ticket" is $74. I learned that first hand
as I cruised at 49 mph on an empty road. Just me and the Federal cop. The
other ticket he gave me was for not having my insurance certificate with
me. That was worth approx. $1,300.00.
The good news is I eventually proved I was insured and the charge was
dismissed but it took a lot of phone calls. I had to prove it twice!
