I'm in a dilemma, and maybe someone Topeka bound can help.
My dilemma is, someone has offered me a ride in a very nice car at the Solo II
Nationals.The selling point is, "It's only ninety bucks to enter, and you only
live once, Katie."
He knows I can't afford it. He knows my situation. I accepted that I wasn't
going. I've been making plans for that part of September. But this person says
that with proper begging, I can get a lift. I can sleep in a tent in Solo City
he says.
So, I'm asking for a lift to Nationals, just to say that at least I tried. You
won't hurt my feelings by saying no. Just to play fair, I can help pay for gas.
I can also do Tammy Wynette impersonations that I've been told are quite good,
especially in the middle of nowhere when there's no decent radio, and you're
tired of your CD collection.
That last sentence probably secures that I WON'T be going. And that's fine.
With any luck, it's too late. I'm crossing my fingers.
