There is one of those old Peterson Publications books titled "Minor Autobody
Repair" that is written from the perspective that the expensive part of a
paint job is the removal of bolt-ons, surface preparation, and masking, and
you can do a lot of that yourself.  They note that the minimum wage guy at
the low end shop can hold a gun as well (or better since that's all he does)
as a high end shop.

Like children, there are no truly ugly cars.
