If that's true, okeedoke, but that doesn't make much sense to me. When
cars TURN, you know, around corners, wouldn't that put the weight near
the outside of the turn? Wouldn't it make sense that if you had even
heat distrubution, that you're maximizing the rubber that's on the
ground?

This is a guess on my end. I don't know much about this stuff. Charlie
Davis taught me how to use a home made pyrometer (use your hand!) that's
worked well for me.
