North American Pylon for October 2001

The National Solo II event issue of North American Pylon went into the mail
yesterday and should be arriving at your mail stop shortly, the U.S. Postal
service willing.

We've expanded this issue to 44 pages. We'd offer a prize to the person who
can correctly count the number of photos but then we'd have to count them
first to be sure. That ain't gonna happen. :)

In addition to the National Solo II and the complete results along with
both course maps, this issue contains a report on:
        1) the Pro Solo Finale, including results, course map, and final
standings;
        2) The Colorado Tour;
        3) The Morgan fanatics annual meet;
        4) The honored Solo Cup winner (Kathy Barnes), Driver of Eminence
(Grady Wood) and
Spirit of the Sport Award (accepted sheepishly by Dean Sapp).
        5) The Portage All-American Autocross;
        6) Groundbreaking ceremonies for SCCA's new HQ in Topeka;
        7) Virginia Motor Sports Club;
        8) Old Dominion Region at Langley Raceway;
        9) Lots of letters offering opinions;
        10) Text of Roger (Ohio) Johnson's Wednesday night brief speech
                on why we do what we do.

Plus columns by Pat Kelly, Warren Leveque, Katie Kelly. Lorenzo the Scribe,
and editor John Kelly.
        The Autocross Calendar will return next month with, we hope,
preliminary schedules for the 2002 season across the U.S. and Canada.
Naturally it will be a "work in Progesss."
