Just a comment from the peanut gallery...

I've run all sorts of different autoxes both over here on the west coast
and back east, from dicky-do 20 people events to nationals. I _still_
have trouble determining the difference from "nationals" courses and
"normal" courses.

What is it exactly? As an east coast guy with small lots, the courses out
here were much more "national-like" because they're longer so you have to
remember more. That's probably the biggest difference in comparing local
events to national level events across the country.

The importance of looking ahead seems the same out here vs. "nationals"
courses. On small lots you can usually remember more details or you're
looping and see the same feature again.

Perhaps nationals courses are a bit more open in the sense that the course
is wider so you can hang yourself harder. Personally, I think that's cool
as long as its clear where you should be going.

In any event, I don't see how courses like those at national-level events
do any disservice to anyone, whether they're going to nationals or not.
