Wow! That topic generated some interesting conversations. Thanks a lot to
everybody who replied on the list and in private. Not only I have a better
idea where to look for a car, but also I've picked up few valuable tips on
how to teach my GF to shift, or rather how not to do it.:-).  I think we'll
spend a "nice" weekend in a Miata sometime this fall.
