A motion to write a new rule or rules imposing a DNF
for failing to stop for a timing slip when one is offered,
or if one's vehicle makes contact with the timing lights,
and a ban on cell phones while working course was
defeated by the SFR Steering Committee 9-2 tonight.

A motion to purchase a plastic stop sign was approved
9-1.

You can expect disqualification from SFR events under
the existing supp rule 10 if you use a cell phone on
course, exit the course above a walking pace (or fail
to stop for the stop sign once it is employed), fail to
heed the warning of a safety steward, or do anything
else that is considered unsafe by the event chair(s)
and safety stewards. At their discretion you *may*
receive a one time warning in lieu of disqualification.

You can expect a DNF for unnecessarily delaying
the event if you take out the timer under SIIR rule
7.9.3 (2000 book numbering). Unless, of course,
you can satisfactorily explain why it was necessary
to take out the timer. :-)
