As I was reading your message I was thinking, "Haven't I ever told him my
mantra?" But then, there it was at the end ...
For those who haven't heard it, I'll say it here: if you want the car to be
all the way at the outside of the track at corner exit ... don't aim for the
middle and "let it drift" to the outside. You don't let the car do
anything. If you want it at the outside of the track, then just drive it
there! STEER towards the outside of the track.
Thinking about it this way has three good effects:
1) You don't slide. Sliding is slow.
2) It causes you to unwind the wheel, instead of the common
rookie mistake of holding the wheel turned too long and
inducing understeer.
3) You use all of the track.
So, listen to Kevin. He's right.
