Today's Meridian Tour work tip:

If you are bored at work waiting to come to Meridian, send e-mail messages
that advertise free pizza, doughnuts, etc., in the break room. When people
complain that there was nothing there,
lean back, rub your stomach, and say, "You've got to be faster than that."

Today's Meridian Tour travel tip:

The South is full of many words that are not used anywhere else in the
country. Most Americans have heard the usual "fixin'", "reckin" and
"y'all" , and know what they mean. Those of you that have traveled to the
Meridian Tour before may even know that "y'all" is singular and "all y'all"
is plural. As Satellite TV and general education reform is now starting to
leak into the south, people down here are trying to use "big" words to show
that they are as sophisticated as the rest of America. Unfortunately, when
the southern dialect meets a muti-syllable word, scary things can happen.
Now we have "new" words. To get you prepared, here is a list of a few"new"
words that you may here while you are in the South:

Cashtration (n.) The act of Bubba buying his first house trailer, which
renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.

Bozone (n.) The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas
from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of
breaking down in the near future. (you WILL come in contact with this)

Extraterrestaurant (n.) An eating place where you feel you've been abducted
and experimented upon. Also known as "Waffle House"

Faunacated (adj.) How wildlife ends up when its environment is destroyed.
Hence faunacatering (v.), which has made a meal of many species. (Saturday
nights dinner???)

Kinstirpation (n.) A painful inability to move relatives who come to visit.
