For those that think this:

Forget about having a Japanese car with air conditioning (only a few 
luxury models come equipped), radio, anything other than steel wheels and 
junk tires, cruise control, sun/moon roofs and the list  goes on and on.

There is a prohibitive tariff against non US installed compressors, thank 
you union lobbyist.  Similar to importing Toyota trucks without a bed, so 
they can slip in under the regulations and then having a bed installed in 
the US to meet homologation requirements.
