Hi Jon,
Concerning your inquiry about the "stock" modifications:
1. Upgrading from standard 16" (7" front, 8" rear) to 17" (7.5" and 9").
This was the optional wheel for the 968 in '94, but my car wasn't ordered
with sport wheels.
This is OK, it was a factory option. You must, however, be sure all the
wheels are within 1/4-inch of the factory offset (backspacing) This is
55mm positive offset for the fronts, 52mm for the rears.
2. Installing a roll bar. This is a coupe, but for DEs and track events, I
am putting a roll bar with harness guides in the car.
This is also permissible in stock.
3. A 5-point safety harness.
No problem
4. Recaro SRD seats (driver and passenger) with harness guides.
Oooops. Upgraded seats are not an allowable item in stock. This would put
you into A-Street Prepared. The 968 will not be Nationally competitive in
ASP.
