As one of those courseworkers, I'd like to officially
protest the driver of car # 69 DS for being a complete
knuckle-dragger! I was working radio on the station
right before the cones in question, and can tell you
that those guys at station #3 had their hands full
during the whole heat. I vaguely remember seeing what
you did, and you had the car pretty well crossed-up if
I recall correctly. Cut the workers a little bit of
slack. The driver was at fault for hitting the cones.
They reported the correct count. The results were
the same. Life goes on.
Oh, it does bear mentioning that two guys in dark
sunglasses and black suits offered to pay everyone
at my station $1,000 each if we would call in the
wrong cone numbers on 69 DS. They said to make sure
that the cone *count* was correct, just not the
cone numbers. Unfortunately, you didn't hit any
cones at my station, and neither did anyone during
the entire heat for that matter. I guess that the
guys at station #3 earned themselves a little bonus,
though.....
