Dear Larry,

I don't know if if would make you competitive, but it would make you very
happy.

In the words of my mentor in the south (JD Kemp),
Peace, Love, and Pushrods,

Subject: This Old Car

While watching the cars dodge the pylons and the snowflakes at the event
Sunday, (Two snow events in one year. This is getting old.) an old club
member stopped past to visit. He suggested that he would work me an
attractive deal on his 1965 Triumph Spitfire Mark 2.

This was his autocross car, and it won a lot of trophies in his hands. I
guess it would fall into F Street Prepared with the tweaks he had done on
it. The car has been sitting in his heated garage for years. He never
bothered with paint, so it doesn't look pretty, but I know it isn't a rust
bucket. The car would come with a completely rebuilt motor waiting to go
into the engine bay. And 1147 cc. I think.

I'm attracted to it because it is only about 1500 lbs. soaking wet, doesn't
have a computer, or air bags,or emmissions controls, or fuel injection, or 5

mph bumpers. If I remember correctly, it doesn't even have a heater because
they were optional at the time.

I solicit opinions from the assembled wisdon of the Team. Do you think this

old crock could be made to be competitive without bankrupting me?
