Mike,
I can only speak for our Region, but the penalty
depends on the speed. we have a 5 MPH Pit/Grid rule.
If you are caught speeding, you are DSQ. We really
adhere to this. If you were under the established grid
speed limit then however you wiggle your way to the
start line is okay. I have seen some cars "wiggle" to
the line to clean the rocks off the tires and I do the
same thing.
