Since the PGT needs new tires, I autox'd my friends loaner BMW 328i
automatic and thought I would compare it to the PGT. My PGT normally runs
in DSP with the normal handling mods.

It was my first nighttime autox, and the headlights weren't as good as my
100/80w Hellas. We put 38f/36r pressures in the tires.

I made the mistake of running 3 of the 4 runs with the DSC (directional
stability control) system on. It pretty much cuts throttle and applys
brakes whenver wheel slip occurs... impossible to get throttle induced tail
out or hard braking oversteer. On my 3rd run when I turned it off, I ended
up spinning. :) The car is fairly balanced, just rolls alot under the soft
suspension. With the DSC on, ABS rocks... I wish my car had it, and its the
only reason I ran with the DSC on. But not having the power when I needed
it sucked.

I ended up getting 6th out of ~20 street tire cars, and I normally would
place about 2nd or 3rd in this crew I raced against.

Needless to say, the PGT will have its brand new RE71's by then, with new
f/r brake pads as well as more negative camber up front for the next autox.
