No way, no how, under no circumstances. The inner sidewall is an
order of magnitude stiffer than the outer one. I have a good
friend who races an ITB enduros and who, in the past, ran R1s. In
1998, at a race at Sebring, his codriver installed fresh front
tires after their final practice. Hank took the first stint in
the race. He immediately noticed the car pushing severely and
eventually went off nose-first, doing enough damage to the car to
force its retirement. After the dust had cleared, he found the
front tires had been installed backwards.

Moral? Don't let yer codriver put on the tires without checking.
And don't run R1s inside out.
